Moaning Myrtle: A Case Study
Harry Potter lovers, raise your hands!
PS- No Muggle should read this.
Harry Potter is a sensation, a feeling for everyone. Big, small; book lover, film addict- it doesn't matter when HP is involved. The magical word it has introduced to us is a magic itself. From the characters to the the plot, everything is in sync along with its representation form. J. K. Rowling, the mother and nurture of the HP series is an example of creativity and dedication to kids and young adults across the globe. Many characters were introduced to us in the series from Hermione to Hagrid whom we all love by heart and forever will.
Amongst the lot, Moaning Myrtle- the ghost in the girls' washroom- who appeared in the 2nd book ... The Chamber Of Secrets was the most eye catching for me. She was a peculiar girl murdered by He- Who- Must- Not- Be- Name while she was in the bathroom. With two ponies and a pair of nerdy spectacles, sho looks like anything but a ghost. Her role the movie was played by Shirley Henderson who was so able to represent and act out the role of Myrtle- the one we read in our favourite book.
Moaning Myrtle herself was the one who helped Harry and Ron find Ginny, Ron's younger sister, who was abducted by He- Who- Must - Not- Be- Named and kept in the chamber. She told them about the occurance of her death, further opening our wise Harry's mind to the truth. Basically, Myrtle was the one who found Ginny unknowingly without that much of scare.
Myrtle was also in the movie while the famouse HP trio had their meetings and potion making meets in the urinals of the other chambers. She sometimes disturbed the trio and never was the centre of attention.
Myrtle won my heart with her funny representation but alas cuteness!
